The Jackfruit Company Launches New Smoked Pulled Jackfruit

Innovative new meat-alternative option available in select Whole Foods regions

Boulder, Colo. (Aug. 23, 2018) – The Jackfruit Company, maker of convenient, delicious, sustainably-sourced jackfruit products, today announced the launch of its new Smoked Pulled Jackfruit, available at Whole Foods Markets in select regions across the country beginning in August.

Smoked Pulled Jackfruit offers an innovative take on a pulled meat alternative by combining young jackfruit, added plant-based, pea protein and a smoky flavor that together deliver an option that can be enjoyed on its own or with a favorite BBQ sauce. Similar to smoked meats, the new Smoked Pulled Jackfruit is smoked “slow and low” over hickory wood chips but contains no BBQ sauce, providing consumers with a neutral flavor, delicious meaty texture and versatility in preparation from a traditional BBQ sandwich to tacos, pizza and any of your favorite recipes.

With nearly 40 percent of Americans actively trying to integrate plant-based foods into their diets (Nielsen Survey, April 2017), the launch of Smoked Pulled Jackfruit provides a new, popular flavor to the growing plant-based meat alternative category.

Each 10 oz. package of Smoked Pulled Jackfruit includes 3.3 servings, is an excellent source of fiber, and has only 90 calories per serving.
