Plant-Based BBQ Sauce

For those who like their BBQ on the saucy side.


½ c ketchup

¼ c water

½ c brown sugar

1 T apple cider vinegar

1 T soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp smoked paprika

½ t onion power

½ t garlic powder

½ t chili powder

1 tsp tomato paste (optional)

1 tsp cayenne (optional)


Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to mix. Bring to a low boil, then turn heat to low. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Use immediately by adding to a skillet with our Plant-Based Pulled Pork or set aside to cool before transferring to a sealed container.
